A Time.
This weekend, which was completely devoid of happy and sleeping pills, was the best that I can remember in quite a while. I'm sore and a bit tired today, but I have a huge smile and a plethora of great memories, so I count myself as lucky. :)
Friday nite, my two best girlfriends and I drove out to Buttfuck Egypt to go see my favorite band, The Sound and The Fury, and their cd release party for "Another Stage." The bar was this big outdoor arena that was like a big backyard porch. It was packed. The vibe and the energy was amazing there and the weather was so great that it was hard not to just get totally lost in the atmosphere of it all. The boys put on an amazing performance and we stayed afterwards for an acoustic set at the adjoining restaurant (?) thing. :) Aside from turning an hour and a half drive into a three hour drive because of our terrible navigational skills, it was well worth the trek and something I'd definitely consider repeating very, very soon.
Last nite, we went to the Hurricane in Westport to go see cd release party #2. The nite was free which was super good for my broke ass. Yay for being on the list! My two best girlfriends, katie and rachel came, too. They got to meet Joe and it went really well. They thought that he was great and he seemed to think that they were nice. :) I was happy. It was so nice to be there with my best band, my best friends and the best guy I've met in a long time.
On an unrelated side note, at the bar last nite, Mario Lopez magically showed up out of nowhere. If you don't know who he is or you aren't a child of the eighties/early nineties, he played AC Slater on "Saved by the Bell." Damn was he attractive. :) Talk about a totally random celebrity sighting.
On another unrelated side note, there was this crazy weird guy there who dressed up as a green m&m with some booty shorts and a green "Cat in the Hat" hat. He was dancing around like a cartoon character. It was so oddly hilarious.
Anyway, my ass is stupid tired. I'm taking a nap and then going to meet some friends for another fun nite. :)
